The Amazon River Basin is the largest rainforest on Earth. The size of the basin is around forty-eight joined United States and covers more than 40% of the South American continent and involves parts of eight South American countries: Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, and Suriname, as well as French Guiana, a branch of France.
